At a GlanceFernie Alpine Resort is renowned for its superb natural snow conditions. Snow arrives at the end of November and stays well into April with an annual average snowfall of 875 cm (29 feet).
Over a hundred defined trails, five alpine bowls and acres of tree skiing test your skills. Experts are never bored gliding through glades, dropping off ridges, checking out chutes or making first tracks in the powder.
All five bowls offer terrain that will entice intermediates to try off-piste and glade skiing. The lower mountain is a beginners delight with wide open slopes and winding trails.
Snowboarders can test the all-terrain park, attack the half-pipe and ride the many natural gullies.
Choose from the many new on-mountain condominium lodges. Each offers spectacular slope-side views and are close to a lift or true ski-in/ski-out convenience and luxury. There are private chalet rentals in the Timberline and Highline Estates subdivisions, with more accommodations nearby in the City of Fernie, only 5 km (3 miles) away.
You are transported to a different world. Crowds and glitz are left behind and you enter the land of friendly smiles, big snowbanks, peaceful mountain scenery. You are sure to meet the down-to-earth locals who are proud to live in the valley.
The guest services department now offers many adventure alternatives for the whole family to enjoy. Choose from horse-drawn sleigh rides, dog sledding, snowmobile tours, torchlight run & barbecue as well as activity nights for the kids. Also, you are always welcome to take a complimentary tour with the Mountain Hosts offered twice daily throughout the season.
Fernie Alpine Resort is located in the southeast corner of the British Columbia Rockies on Crownest Highway #3, about 60 km (40 miles) west of the Alberta border and 60 km (40 miles) north of the U.S. border.
